Guide
Where to Begin with Delhi NCR's Reading Scene
A starting guide for new readers, returning readers, and anyone trying to understand the city through its bookstores, book clubs, events, and reading spaces.

Delhi NCR's reading culture is not in one place. It lives across small bookstores, WhatsApp groups, weekend reading circles, and events that are often announced only a day or two in advance. This guide is meant as a gentle starting point, not a finished map.
If you are new to the city, or new to reading socially, a good first step is to visit one or two independent bookstores near you and see what they host. Many run regular events: launches, readings, and discussions, and their noticeboards or Instagram pages are often the best local source of what is coming up.
From there, book clubs and reading circles are a low-pressure way to meet other readers. Formats vary widely: some are silent reading sessions in parks, others are structured discussions with a set book each month. Browse the Book Clubs page and pick one whose pace and format sound right for you.
Reading-friendly spaces, cafes, libraries, and cultural centres, are worth knowing about even if you are not looking for an event. They are simply places where sitting with a book for a few hours feels natural.
This guide will be expanded over time as more of the scene is documented. If you know something that should be added, the Suggest page is the place to send it.
