The note

Ahmedabad’s documentation is thinner and patchier than the active-tier cities on this index. Rather than force an "independent bookstore city" narrative the public record doesn’t yet support, this edition builds around verified institutions, campuses, and language networks: M.J. Library, CEPT University’s Lilavati Lalbhai Library, Gujarat Vidyapith, and the Ahmedabad International Literature Festival.

Gujarati-language publishing and bookselling infrastructure is under-represented here and needs dedicated attention in a future pass.
